I’m The Only ‘GOAT’ In Nigeria – Davido Boasts.

Grammy-nominated Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has claimed he is the greatest musician of all time in the Nigerian music industry. Naina News reports that music enthusiasts have always argued about the biggest Nigerian artist, Davido, Wizkid, or Burna Boy. PlayUnmute Fullscreen Despite the argument, the ‘If’ crooner has continued to downplay any comparison between him and his colleagues. In a video shared on TikTok by British-Nigerian content creator, Shopsydoo, Davido could be heard bragging about being the only “GOAT” in Nigeria. He said, “There is only one GOAT in my country and it’s me.”
Davido Reacts To Arrest Claims, To Take Legal Action Meanwhile, Davido has debunked reports that he was arrested after his show in Kenya. In a statement released on his official X account, Davido debunked the rumour, stating that he has never been arrested and described the reports as untrue. Naija News reports that he disclosed that he completed his show in Uganda and Kenya and had since returned to Nigeria. The ‘Unavailable’ crooner further disclosed that he will seek legal recourse against the media platform from which the fake news emanated. The statement by Davido read, “Fam, it has come to my attention that false reports regarding an arrest circulated online on April 1st, which has since led to a barrage of calls. I want to assure my fans that these re- ports are entirely untrue. I successfully completed my scheduled shows in Uganda and Kenya and have since re- turned home to Nigeria.”

Naira Abuse: EFCC Wants To Arrest Me – Portable Claims.

Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is planning to arrest him upon his return to Nigeria. Naija News reports that the ‘Zazu’ hitmaker, currently abroad, aired these allegations during a recent Instagram live session with fans. PlayUnmute Fullscreen Portable’s troubles stem from a call to action by a self-proclaimed social media activist, known only as VeryDarkMan, who has reportedly urged the EFCC to investigate the singer for his treatment of the national currency. This callout follows Portable’s public plea for forgiveness from the EFCC, where he asked for leniency if found guilty of any wrongdoing regarding his handling of the Naira. In the live session, Portable expressed his fear of being detained upon his arrival in Nigeria. “The EFCC is planning to arrest me when I return to Nigeria because VeryDarkMan name-dropped me,” he claimed, addressing his over 700,000 Instagram followers. Adding to his defensive stance, Portable criticized VeryDarkMan’s credibility and influence, questioning his motivations and qualifications to speak on legal matters. As the EFCC has not yet officially responded to these claims, the authenticity of Portable’s allegations remains unconfirmed. However, the agency is known for its strict enforcement of laws against currency abuse, a standing policy that could potentially affect Portable upon his return.

The Diamond Play Button is the highest award on YouTube and it is given to a YouTuber that surpasses the 10 million subscribers mark.
Other awards include the Gold Play Button for YouTubers who surpass the 1 million mark and the Silver Play Button for YouTubers who surpass the 100,000 mark.
Chris Brown shared a photo of the letter sent to him by the CEO of YouTube on his Instagram page.
The letter read:
"Dear Chris Brown,
At a hundred thousand, we thought: Not Bad. That’s a healthy new channel.
At one million, we thought: Wow, this creator’s got something pretty awesome going on.
But 10 million? At this point we’re scratching our heads. How the heck did you DO that? 10 million subscribers isn’t just a lot of people, it’s more than the entire population of New York City!
The fact is, you’re no longer a great channel. You’re a movement.
You’ve clearly touched a nerve in the world, and you’ve found a legion of fans who expect -and receive- great things from you.
We hope you’ll accept this Diamond Play Button as a woefully inadequate token of our appreciation, and our respect for what you’ve accomplished.
You amaze us and inspire us everyday. Keep it coming.
Sincerely,
CEO, YouTube"
Congrats Chris!

IYKZ 'They know' Ft. Maleek Berry [Video]

With the single off to a strong start, IYKZ is keeping the momentum going with the release of the music video.

Rising British-Nigerian artists IYKZ and Maleek Berry have joined forces for new single 'They Know (Wan Mo)'.

Written and produced by IYKZ and Maleek, the single is part of the growing Afro Bashment movement and is already a hit on streaming platforms, with almost 150,000 streams on Spotify alone since being released independently only a few weeks ago.
The track’s success also extends to radio, with notable support from renowned UK radio DJs Twin B and DJ Target on BBC Radio 1Xtra and Jay London on Capital XTRA.
With the single off to a strong start, IYKZ is keeping the momentum going with the release of the music video directed by Meji Alabi (Zak Abel, Maleek Berry, Sneakbo) for JM Films.
Shot in an underground warehouse in Hackney, East London, the monochromatic visuals provide the perfect backdrop for the gritty, hard-hitting street anthem, which also pays homage to the two rappers’ Nigerian heritage.
Speaking on the record, IYKZ says, '"Wan mo’ means ‘they know’ in the Nigerian Yoruba language.
"I’m Igbo but Maleek is Yoruba, so we blend both dialects throughout the record.
"It’s a patriotic street anthem. We want our voices to be heard. We linked up and did everything in Maleek’s bedroom.
"By the end of the session, we knew we had something special.”
With Maleek producing much of IYKZ’s early material, it’s not the first time they have collaborated or appeared in the same video together.
"Working with IYKZ is always magic”, Maleek says of their partnership.
“I love working with people who have a deep understanding of music, so it's always bound to be something special when we collaborate."
The track is one of several new singles IYKZ will be releasing over the coming months.
