Man arraigned for allegedly breaking into Lagos station

A 38-year-old man , Smith Adetona , who allegedly scaled the fence of Ebony Life Television Station at Ilupeju to steal,  was on Thursday hauled up before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.

Adetona , who lives at Mushin area of Lagos, is facing a charge of intent to commit felony.

He, however, denied the charge.

According to the prosecutor, Sgt. Yomi Egunjobi, the accused committed the offence on April 20 at Ebony Life Television Station on Industrial Avenue, Ilupeju.

The accused climbed the fence and broke into the premises at night to steal, he said.

He told the court that the accused had on him at the time of arrest an iron rod and a hammer.

Egunjobi said a police patrol team stationed at Ebony Life Television Station apprehended the accused.

The offence contravened Section 404 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 (Revised).

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the offence carries a penalty of seven years imprisonment.

The Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Osibajo, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.

The surety must be gainfully employed and also show evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government, she said.

She adjourned the case until May 11 for mention.

Iyanya Singer says he is not jealous of Tekno

Iyanya wants you to know that he is very happy for Tekno and wishes him more success in his musical career.

It is easy to see why many believe that Iyanya is jealous of Tekno especially with the headway he has been making in recent times, but the singer begs to differ.

Tekno Nobody is listening, but singer is telling the greatest Nigerian love story ever

Do you know Tekno has been trying to talk to you for the past two years, and you haven’t listened? And you call yourself a fan?

When Tekno loves, he does it with his body, soul, spirit and music. In the past three years, the man has moved from being a rising artist with talent, to a pop king, who is booked all year round, has a zillion dollars streaming into his pocket, and the most beautiful of women around him.

But life is funny. Tekno for all his braggadocio and happy-go-lucky exterior is a fool in love. The young man is a hopeless romantic, who cannot contain his love for a special woman. And his music reveals it.

We Nigerians are a shallow bunch. We accept stuff at face value, listen to the music like its just fluff; half-mindedly allowing it play from our devices, while we focus on capturing the beat with our super dance moves.

And we can’t really be blamed. Our artists have failed us again and again. They’ve constantly given us very cheap music, with very little or no symbolism to make it hold weight. Sometimes, there’s no meaning at all. It’s just a mindless drone, arranged together for a quick hit.

But not Tekno. Tekno is a jewel. And while we may all be chasing the infectious sound of his melody, and looking out for his corny but delightfully silly lyrics, we have all failed to understand that the singer is telling us one of the greatest love stories to ever come out of Nigeria.

And trust me, if we can truly decipher the full scale of it, and all the specific characters in the story, then we can have something to rival 2face and Annie Idibia, Wizkid and Tania, Tiwa Savage and TeeBillz. Heck, maybe we might just have something to rival the love between Odumegwu Ojukwu and Bianca.

But Tekno is a shy man when he isn’t in character as an entertainer, and he prefers to keep things a little mysterious. The only way he communicates is via his music. And we have slightly deciphered it.

With the enjoyment of December, and the loss of focus, Tekno cheated on his lover. And guess what? She dumped his heart. The big star has a lot of women throwing themselves at him, and he finally succumbed to all that attention, and cheated.
